 Saltwater Crocodile

The Mary River Wetlands in the Northern Territory still offer a degree of biodiversity rarely found elsewhere on the planet .. and also plenty of food for saltwater crocodiles. There are about six salties to be found per km along the river which is the highest crocodile density in Australia and maybe globally. The total number of saltwater crocodiles in Australia today is estimated to be around 100,000 - yet some studies assume a lot more.

The crocodile in the frame tries to keep its brain from melting or to prepare itself for the night of hunting ahead.
